ABOUT MAVEN CATERING

At Maven Catering, there are a few things we really believe in. We believe that a delicious meal is so much better when it’s paired with great wine. We believe that making things from scratch is worth the extra effort. We believe that trying new flavours and cuisines is like travelling the world without leaving home. We believe that supporting local businesses and farms leads to a vibrant community. We believe that the charm of the Ottawa Valley makes it one of the best places in the world to live. And we believe that bringing great food and great people together is kind of magical. Do you?

It’s these beliefs that inspired Carolyn Arnold to establish Maven Catering in Deep River, Ontario, in 2013. Carolyn studied culinary management at Algonquin College and was the recipient of several awards recognizing her skills in combining flavours into unique dishes. She’s a seasoned world traveller, having explored restaurants in Australia, Cambodia, and Thailand. She’s trained in a South African kitchen, explored farmer’s markets from Costa Rica to Amsterdam and picked grapes at wineries in Prince Edward County. Carolyn brings her travel experience back to her kitchen, where she prides herself on creating comfort food with international flavours.

Since its inception, Maven Catering has grown to a team of 10 full and part-time staff who all have a passion for great food and the local community. The Maven team provides weekly fresh food options and custom catering, and plans events in partnership with local businesses in the Ottawa Valley.
